(Ottawa, ON) – On August 23, 2018, shortly after 9:00 PM, officers with the Ottawa Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and other first responders were dispatched to a multi-vehicle collision on Highway-416 near Third Line.
A southbound vehicle crossed the median and collided with a northbound vehicle. A second northbound vehicle then struck the first.
The southbound driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the first northbound vehicle suffered serious, but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to hospital. The driver of the third vehicle was not injured.
The deceased male has been identified as a 19-year old male Ottawa. His name is not being released at this time, as not all family members have been notified.
OPP Traffic Collision Investigators and members of the Ottawa OPP Detachment are continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.
