Serious Assault on Laurier Avenue West now a homicide investigation

(Ottawa)—The Ottawa Police Major Crime Section is confirming that the 59 years old woman succumbed to her injuries in hospital, this afternoon. The assault is now being investigated as a homicide.
The Ottawa Police is not identifying the victim until next of kin notification is completed.
Investigators still wish to speak to anyone with information about people who may have had interaction with the victim on May 24th specifically between 10:00am and 12:30 pm, as well as in the days prior.

Update: Serious Assault Investigation on Laurier Avenue West
(Ottawa)—The Ottawa Police Major Crime Section continues to investigate a serious assault that occurred in an office on Laurier Avenue West on Thursday afternoon.
The victim, a 59-year-old woman, suffered serious life-threatening injuries in the attack. The victim is an employee of the Christian Science Reading Centre at 141 Laurier Avenue Westwhere the assault took place.
“Investigators are following up on all information and there is no suspect in custody at this time,” said Inspector Jamie Dunlop with Specialized Investigations of the Criminal Investigations Directorate. “Investigators are also seeking to speak to anyone with information about people who may have had interaction with the victim on May 24th specifically between 10:00am and 12:30 pm.”

Serious Assault Investigation on Laurier Avenue West
(Ottawa) — The Major Crime Section is investigating a serious assault that occurred in an office on the 100 block of Laurier Ave. West on Thursday afternoon.
A female victim was found with life-threatening injuries at about 1:00 p.m. She remains in hospital.
Investigators are seeking anyone with information about this assault and ask them to call the Ottawa Police Major Crime Unit at 613-236-1222 ext. 5493.
