Bank Street Marijuana Dispensary Bust in Ottawa MARCH 9, 2017

CDSA warrant executed on Bank Street results in five arrests

(Ottawa) – On Thursday, March 9th, 2017, the Ottawa Police Service Drug Unit executed a Control Drug and Substance Act (CDSA) search warrant at an illegal marijuana dispensary located at the 300 block of Bank Street.

Five people were arrested and charged at the dispensary.   All arrested without incident. Their names are not being released at this time so as not to jeopardize the integrity of the ongoing investigation.

They are all facing charges of:

  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking schedule II substance (marijuana) x 1 each
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking schedule II substance (THC Oil) x 1 each
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking schedule II substance (THC Shatter) x 1 each
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking schedule II substance (Hashish) x 1 each
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking schedule II substance (CBD Oil) x 1 each
  • Possession of proceeds of Crime, under $5000. x 1 each

Drugs and Property seized:

  • Marijuana
  • THC Oil
  • THC Shatter
  • Hashish
  • CBD Oil
  • Laptop x 1
  • Digital Scales
  • $1850.00 Canadian Currency

All accused persons were released on a Promise to Appear.

The Ottawa Police Service would like to remind the public that storefront marijuana dispensaries are illegal and have no association with lawful medical marijuana.   Investigations related to such illegal storefronts will continue.

Marijuana is only legal when prescribed by a physician and accessed from an authorized producer. You can find more details on legal access to medicinal marijuana.
